    The Institute of Physical Chemistry actively participates in the establishment of the European Photocatalysis Federation and the coordination of the corresponding research activities in Greece.

     

     

    The 6th Summer School on Methods in Micro-Nanotechnology and Nanobiotechnology will be held in Athens, Greece September 13 - 17, 2010.  

    The Summer School is co-organized by the Institutes of Physical Chemistry, Microelectronics,  Radioisotopes & Radiodiagnostic Products and Materials Science,  NCSR Demokritos, in collaboration with the Foundation for Biomedical Research of the Academy of Athens.

    The Summer School  is co-sponsored by the project, Marie Curie ITN CYCLON  ( http://www.itn-cyclon.eu )  coordinated by the  Institute of Physical Chemistry.

    Research Facilities

     

    Standard organic laboratory, macromolecular crystallisation, crystallisation thermostats and single crystal diffractometer (Siemens, upgrated by X-ray Logic).

    Access to miscellaneous departmental facilities: GC-ESI-MS, AFM/STM Microscopes, UV-Vis, FT-IR and Fluorescence spectrometers, HPLC, Circular Dichroism spectrometer (Jasco J-715) 

    The staff is responsible for the following facilities:

    X-Ray Crystallography Laboratory (I. M. Mavridis, coordinator): Single crystal diffractometer (Siemens, upgrated by X-ray Logic); Macromolecular Crystallography Laboratory [Rotating anode (Rigaku), Image Plate Raxis IV (Molecular Structure Corporation), low temperature apparatus (Oxford Cryosystems) on lend from Hellenic Pasteur Institute; computing and molecular graphics facilities.

    NMR Laboratory: 500 MHz Avance DRX Bruker, 250 MHz AVANCE III Bruker, (In-Charge Scientist Dr. K. Yannakopoulou, IPC)
