    The Institute of Physical Chemistry actively participates in the establishment of the European Photocatalysis Federation and the coordination of the corresponding research activities in Greece.

     

     

    The 6th Summer School on Methods in Micro-Nanotechnology and Nanobiotechnology will be held in Athens, Greece September 13 - 17, 2010.  

    The Summer School is co-organized by the Institutes of Physical Chemistry, Microelectronics,  Radioisotopes & Radiodiagnostic Products and Materials Science,  NCSR Demokritos, in collaboration with the Foundation for Biomedical Research of the Academy of Athens.

    The Summer School  is co-sponsored by the project, Marie Curie ITN CYCLON  ( http://www.itn-cyclon.eu )  coordinated by the  Institute of Physical Chemistry.

    Main Entrance

    The main entrance to N.C.S.R DEMOKRITOS  is in Patriarchou Grigoriou & Neapoleos street, located in Agia Paraskevi (a district of Athens). The Institute of Physical Chemistry is located in the campus of the research center and as shown in the map below (number 20). All visitors should report initially to the main gate, which is staffed 24 hours a day; the telephone number is 0030 210 -6503541 6503542

    Arriving frοm Athens center

    (NOTE: Athens has an integrated bus and metro system - a €1 ticket and a €6 airport ticket is valid on both for 1,5 hours from validation in a ticket machine).

    By subway take line 3 (Blue Line) to station "Nomismatokopio" and you leave the station from the "Kondilaki Street" exit. In front of the station is a bus stop. Take buses lines  B5, 406 or 407 heading to Agia Paraskevi and get off at the  bus stop "4th Agia Paraskevi - written as 4η Αγ. Παρασκευής" which is 50 meters away from the main entrance of N.C.S.R DEMOKRITOS. The estimated time of arrival depending on traffic congestion is 30 to 45 minutes.

    By bus you get line B5 heading to Agia Paraskevi and you get off at the "4th Agia Paraskevi" bus stop which is 50 meters away from the main entrance of N.C.S.R DEMOKRITOS. The cost for the 1,5 hours ticket is €1 and the estimated time of arrival depending on the traffic congestion is 35 to 45 minutes.

    By cab you arrive to Patriarchou Grigoriou & Neapoleos  - Agia Paraskevi in an average of 20 to 30 minutes and the cost is about €10.

    Arriving from National Airport El. Venizelos

The cost of the ticket from the airport is €3.20 and the estimated time of arrival depending on the traffic congestion is 40 to 50 minutes.

    By cab through Attiki Odos you arrive to Patriarchou Grigoriou & Neapoleos  - Agia Paraskevi in an average of 20 to 30 minutes and the cost is about €20.
